Arctic Trucks, the Iceland based developer of ultra high capability off-road vehicles, has announced a significant growth capital investment from Frumtak Ventures, a major Icelandic fund that supports international expansion of quality Icelandic businesses. Arctic Trucks uses the Icelandic spirit of adventure with innovative engineering, to develop the ultimate solutions for off road driving in all conditions. Born in the beautiful and challenging terrain of Iceland, Arctic Trucks products have conquered the world’s harshest environments, including 223.000 on the Antarctica plateau, driving to the South Pole over 50 times and providing the vehicles and support to deliver the BBC Top Gear team safely to the North Pole. Arctic Trucks is the only wheeled vehicle that meets the exacting environmental and durability standards needed to support scientific and expeditionary tours of the Antarctic. The company also runs driving experiences, led by breathtaking exploration of the wonders of Iceland. Two experienced executives are also joining the Arctic Trucks Board to provide further support to ambitious growth plans. Clive Scrivener joins as Chairman and Patrik von Sydow as Chief Executive. Clive has a wealth of international, executive experience in multiple industries, including automotive. His experience includes chief executive at Prodrive, a renowned automotive, special vehicle and motorsport business. Clive is also active in several other high growth companies, including as chairman of Oxbotica, an Oxford University spin out specialising in mobile autonomy and robotics technology. Patrik is a highly experienced chief executive in brand driven international businesses, with roles in Danish Yachts, Sealine, Numarine, ASSA ABLOY, Sunseeker and GM.
